From time to time, we hear from members who are concerned about their information appearing on unfamiliar websites. Many web developers pull public data from sources like Yellow Pages, Google, Facebook, Instagram, or X to boost traffic to their sites.

Most of these listings are harmless, but in rare cases, information can be misused—such as being added to inappropriate or misleading websites.

To stay informed, we recommend occasionally searching your name or your clinic’s name on Google or Bing. This can show you where your information appears and how your online presence is being portrayed. If you find your name on a site you’d prefer not to be listed on, you have the right to request that your information be removed.

Another helpful step is to create a Google Business Profile for yourself or your clinic. This can improve how you appear in search results and give you more control over your online image. If you’re interested, you can get started by clicking here.
