After a year away from the Board she decided to run for the President position. Shantel owns her own business in Big River, Saskatchewan, she is a mother of twin boys and calls herself “A Professional Student” as she loves learning new things, problem solving and taking Continuing Education Courses.
My passion is person-centred care to help people manage their pain and injuries so they can pursue their wellness goals. I hope to bring my perspective and creativity to the board and contribute to its work to elevate our professions.
My past education also includes a Master’s Degree in Applied Science from University of Alberta and an Executive Business Management Certificate from the University of Calgary. Along my career path in complimentary health care, I also hold certifications as a Reiki Master/Teacher, Professional Fitness Trainer, National Sports Coach (NCCP Level 3), and advanced certification as a Therapeutic Cupping Instructor.
I have two main passions: teaching continuing education courses for health care professionals and working with athletes of all ages. I was honored to be on the medical teams as a therapist at the Canadian Olympic Track and Field Trials (2012), Canadian National Swim Finals (2012) and the World Cup Women’s Fastpitch Championships (2016). As Treasurer with CMMOTA, I hope to apply my training and experience to contribute to the excellent work being done by CMMOTA.
Along her journey in health and wellness Lynnette also holds a passion for her community, supporting local charities and helping with fundraising and events. As well as hosting and co-hosting wellness retreats, she strives for organization, thoughtfulness and preparation. I am honoured to be part of CMMOTA, I look forward to supporting such a strong team.
