As we enter year two of our current CEC Cycle, we have recently updated some of the ways that members can earn credits. Our goal is to make it easier for you to achieve the credits you need without breaking the bank!

Here are some ways you can earn credits without spending much, if any, money:

1. AGM Attendance: You can earn 4 CECs for each AGM you attend. AGMs are held virtually in late May/early June each year. This means that over our 3-year cycle (January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2027), you can attend all three for a total of 12 credits! If you missed out on 2025, don’t worry, 2026 and 2027 are still real possibilities. Be sure to mark May 29, 2026 on your calendar – as that is the set date for our 2026 AGM running from 2 PM to 6 PM MT.

2. Attend a live CMMOTA Info Session: You can earn 1 CEC for each live CMMOTA Info Session you attend. These are held virtually a minimum of 6 times per year with a wide variety of topics covered. Attend them all over the course of the 3-year cycle and you would be looking at a total of 18 credits, maybe even more depending on the number of sessions held each year!

3. Volunteering to Promote the Industry: Volunteering to provide massages at events (without pay) or in partnership with non-charitable organizations earns 1 credit per hours, up to 6 credits per event. You can do this for a total of 18 credits during the cycle.

4. First Aid Certification: Members receive 6 credits once for having a valid Standard (Intermediate) First Aid and Level C CPR certification on file.

5. Board Participation: Members earn 6 credits for each year of participation on the CMMOTA Board.

6. Disciplinary Committee Participation: Members earn 6 credits for each year of participation on the Disciplinary Committee.

7. Other Committee Participation: Members can earn a minimum of 6 credits per year of participation serving on different committees when appointed by the Board to serve. Be sure to watch the CMMOTA Connects newsletter for specific opportunities.

8. Partner Perks Program: Some course providers offer discounts to our members. You can check out the discounts through “Resources” in your Member Profile.

By attending AGMs and participating on a Board or Committee for at least 2 out of the 3 years, you could easily meet your 30-credit requirement without spending any money out of pocket.
