Course Highlights

  • Comprehensive review of RMT scope of practice and the critical distinctions between a spa facial, esthetic treatments, and a professional therapeutic facial massage performed by a Registered Massage Therapist.
  • Advanced assessment and treatment of facial soft tissues, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), fascial restrictions, and nerve impingement presentations.
  • Therapeutic application of both instrument assisted and manual applications of intraoral/buccal technique, lymphatic technique, myofascial technique, scar tissue and nerve impingement mobilization, rehabilitative soft tissue treatment.
  • Clinical considerations for working safely and appropriately which clients who have undergone:
      • facial threading
      • dermal fillers
      • neuromodulator injections
      • post-surgical facial procedures
      • cosmetic scar formation
        • Biochemistry and selection of appropriate professional facial massage mediums, including:
          • ingredient functionality, contraindications
          • tissue compatibility
          • professional-grade product considerations
