Somatic Exercise Teacher Training
NMP Somatics™ (Neuromuscular Patterning)
NMP Somatics™ is a progressive somatic movement education program for Registered Massage Therapists and bodywork professionals. Rooted in Hanna Somatic Education and informed by neuroplasticity, sensory-motor learning, and voluntary movement retraining, this training offers practical, non-forceful movement strategies that support professional practice, client education, and self-care.
Participants learn how chronic pain, postural tension, and movement limitations are often shaped by habituated neuromuscular patterns, and how somatic exercise can help retrain the nervous system and body through slow, conscious movement.
This professional training progresses from foundational somatic exercises and movement awareness to teaching skills, observation, and assisted learning principles, and serves as the entry pathway into further NMP Somatics training, including advanced movement applications and the clinical hands-on branch.
Program Overview (Modules 1–4)
Participants will learn to:
- understand the neuromuscular basis of chronic muscle tension, posture, and movement patterns
- identify flexor, extensor, rotational, and limb-based patterns
- develop observation skills for movement quality, compensation, and coordination
- learn safe somatic exercises for self-care and client education
- integrate movement-based strategies that complement hands-on massage therapy within scope of practice
