Below we have outlined changes and additions or deletions to our policy handbook since the March 12, 2026 Edition. All of the changes in these policies are policy amendments which were approved at the April 30, 2026 Board of Directors Meeting. All Policy changes contained within this edition of the member handbook will come into effect May 1, 2026.
The Board has made amendments to the following policies:
- Cancellation of Membership Policy
- Removed references to the AGM-in-lieu fee which was discontinued after the 2025 AGM.
- Discipline for Complaints Policy
- An addition to item 5.3 to allow for the amendment of timelines related to the process.
- Membership Requirement – Maintenance of Valid Professional Liability Insurance Policy
- Added requirements under item 3 for circumstances where a member is required to obtain their professional liability insurance through an alternative broker including minimum coverage amounts and requirements related to proof of insurance. The reason for the difference between Quebec and the rest of Canada is that the legal system and potential liability is currently different, which means that the level of coverage needed is lower.
