Over the past 15 years, we have grown from a fully volunteer-run organization into a professionally governed association with a dedicated Board of Directors and a paid administrative team. CMMOTA is actively involved on internal and external committees at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels of government. We are committed to seeing legislation introduced to regulate the profession of Massage Therapy in all remaining unregulated provinces in Canada.
We uphold rigorous professional standards: full members must have completed a minimum of 2200 hours of training from a recognized school. We do not accept experience in lieu of formal education. Because of these high standards, CMMOTA members in unregulated provinces are automatically recognized by most health insurance companies, allowing their clients to receive reimbursement for treatments.
