INFORMATION BULLETIN – ALBERTA CMMOTA MEMBERS – January 15, 2021

Dear Members,

As you know there was an announcement made yesterday regarding the easing of COVID-19 related restrictions. 

We are pleased to announce that effective Monday January 18, 2021, that both Massage Therapy and Manual Osteopathic Therapy will be allowed to reopen by appointment only.  We have been able to verify that this means that effective Monday January 18, 2021 that the need for a written prescription or referral is no longer necessary to provide massage therapy treatment.

Please be aware that the current order does mean that no walk-in appointments are allowed.  The client must have a pre-booked appointment prior to attending the clinic, and all current return to work guidelines and protocols must be followed. In this regard, Manual Osteopathic Therapists are to follow the CMMOTA COVID-19 Guidelines and Protocols for Alberta Therapists (see the 3 documents attached).  For Massage Therapists, you are required to follow the COVID 19 Infection Prevention and Control Manual for Alberta Massage Therapists which is attached.
