Not your average hot stone course!
Yes, you’ll learn the basics to delivering an exceptional stone massage, but you’ll also learn how to administer therapeutic and deep tissue techniques to advance your massage sessions. We’ll use hot and cold stone temperatures, trigger point release techniques, and how to adequately affect fascia, superficial and deep muscle layers.
Classes run over 2 days and have options for learning online through zoom ($450) or in-person ($515). Breakthrough Massage Academy focuses on classes that are affordable and accessible while being full of information.
Course Goals: By the end of this course, you will have learned:
- A full stone massage history
- Reviewing hydrotherapy and thermotherapy properties and their benefits
- Practicing massage with different stone temperatures
- A general full-body hot stone routine using a variety of stone types (basalt, marble, jade)
- Safe stone massage application
- How to communicate with clients during stone massage sessions
- Stone massage body mechanics
- A planning guide to incorporate stonework into your current massage routine
- Stone massage affects on the fascial and lymph systems
- Treating trigger points with stones
- How to open lymphatic vessels and synchronize stone strokes to improve edema
- Enhancing stone massage through olfaction
- Deep tissue applications to save your hands and expand your massage work
Prerequisite: Massage therapists must be registered and hold massage insurance to take this course
