SUMMARY:Research to Practice: Neck & Shoulder Pain
DESCRIPTION:WHEN: June 14\, 2027 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am MT through Zoom. \nZoom link will be provided closer to the event. CMMOTA Members will earn 1 CEC for this course. \nCOURSE OPTION: \nIn this 60-minute webinar\, participants will learn how to use an evidence-based framework to achieve better outcomes in the assessment and treatment of acute and chronic neck and shoulder conditions. Current science on risk factors is combined with various clinical presentations to inform and simplify your clinical experience. Recorded demonstrations of hands-on techniques are included to highlight how this information is used in practice.\n  \nEric Purves\, MSc RMT \nEric is a registered massage therapist\, educator and researcher based in Victoria\, BC\, Canada. He has over 20 years of clinical experience. His clinical\, research and educational focus is on the use of research evidence to inform best practices for the treatment and management of painful musculoskeletal disorders. Eric is a former faculty member with PainBC. He now runs his own continuing education company\, The Centre for Evidence Based Education Inc. where he teaches courses to massage\, manual and movement therapists on assessment\, treatment and management for chronic pain\, regional and systemic conditions. \nIn 2019\, Eric received his master’s in rehabilitation science through the University of British Columbia. His graduate work focused on the role of massage therapists in the healthcare system\, the barriers and facilitators to the use of research evidence in practice and how to use evidence-based strategies to enhance the utilization of research evidence in curriculum development and educational delivery. \nRefund Policy: \nFull refund 45 days prior to the event (less fees).\n50% refund 30 days prior to the event.\nNo refund 14 days prior to the event.
